How to Build a Splash Pool Deck

Step 5: Attach Handrail Post Bracket

If a handrail will be installed on the "Splash" portion of the deck, a Splash Handrail Bracket will be needed. This bracket is installed prior to installing the decking material. At locations along the Splash Support Frame where a handrail post is needed, place and center the handrail bracket over the connection of the two Support Frames.

(If you do not purchase splash rail brackets, or it is not available, use two Simpon Strong Tie DPT7Z or similar brackets per post with 3/8” bolts. The upper two through bolts connect to a pair of Simpson DTT2 deck post connectors or similar bracket for required strength. Upper 3/8” bolts should be long enough to connect to the deck post connectors that are installed behind the Support Frame’s corner braces.)

Use Simpson Strong-Tie® N10DHDG Nails or similar for all flange connections. 24 fasteners per bracket.
