“We really should build a deck for the new pool.” Said Karen. “No problem honey!” says I. Oh brother! What have I gotten myself into now? I don’t know the first thing about building a deck, I’m a computer engineer. Should I get one of these metal deals they sell at the pool store and take the easy way out? Nah, too small. Should I call a contractor and have them do it? Nah, too expensive. So I head to Lowe’s to get an idea of what I’m getting myself into. “Lowe” and behold, I find the answer! Dek Blocks.
Right next to these cinder blocks with notches in them for 4x4 and 2x4’s is this information sheet that directs you to this website: http://www.deckplans.com. It’s like they knew I was clueless or something. Wow! Look at all those different decks people have built. I like this one here and that one there. I think I can do this. Check out the detailed plans with a part list attached! Somebody up there is looking out for me.
“Honey, this is what I am going to build.” I say with confidence. “Great, when will it be done?” she asks. “Done? I have no idea but, come with me to Lowes and help me with these Dek Blocks. I need 50 of them”
